A contemporary interpretation of the gothic cathedrals, the Revelation deck boasts details, stained glass ornamentations, and symbolic carvings from the Nidaros, the stunning Norwegian cathedral. Produced by Blake Brenneman and hand-illustrated by Michael Messer, the Revelation deck was crowdfunded on Deckstarter.

Inspired by the hand-drawn blueprints of the medieval builders, the deck is illustrated using a fine-tipped ink pen. Only three basic colors have been used: black, white, and red.

All the cards are fully customized. The Ace of Spades, the Jokers, and the back design of the cards and of the tuck case remind us of the beautiful stained glasses. The court cards portray skeleton characters who point back to the Norwegian royalty who is still resting in the catacombs of the Nidaros cathedral.
